Meet Your Therapist

Greetings and salutations! I'm Kylie, Doctor of Physical Therapy and founder of Neuro Performance Therapy. My path to physical therapy wasn't exactly a straight line — and I think that's made me a better clinician.

I grew up in Oklahoma as a competitive swimmer, and movement has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. After graduating from Arizona State University with a degree in studio arts, I moved to Japan for a pottery internship — and then just didn't leave for nearly three years. I explored the countryside by bicycle, hiked as many mountains as I could find, learned to ski (with enthusiasm, if not much skill), and spent as much time in the water as possible. From Japan I moved to Costa Rica, where I worked on a sea turtle conservation project before eventually finding my way back to the States and into physical therapy.

What drew me to PT? Watching my dad. Before a big bike packing trip we took together through Japan, he had surgery and went through physical therapy. He completed every mile of that biking trip without issue. When he needed surgery on the other ankle, I took him to every appointment and watched his physical therapist help him recover his function and get back to the life he loved. I've always loved working with people, understanding how the body moves, and helping things work the way they should. PT felt like the perfect fit.

I earned my Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of Oklahoma in 2018 and spent the next six years working in inpatient rehabilitation, treating patients with stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, spinal cord injuries, and complex balance and fall-related conditions. During that time I pursued advanced training extensively, earning my Vestibular Rehabilitation and Concussion Certification through the American Institute of Balance, my APTA Certified Balance and Falls Professional designation, and my Certification as an Exercise Expert for the Aging Adult (CEEAA). I later added my Geriatric Clinical Specialist board certification through APTA — one of the most rigorous certifications in the field.

In 2024 I transitioned to outpatient care, where I continued specializing in vestibular, neurological, and balance conditions while also beginning to see more patients with spine pain — neck, mid-back, and low back. Recognizing that my orthopedic skills needed to match my neurological expertise, I completed an intensive four-month mentorship with Performance Rehab Authority, focused on spine, sports, and high-level athletic populations. That training transformed the way I evaluate and treat people with orthopedic conditions — and it's made me a sharper neurological clinician too, because so many of the people I see with neurological conditions have orthopedic issues as well.

Through all of that experience, one thing became clear: I wanted to practice differently. I wanted the time to truly understand each person's problem, the space to make sure we were always working toward the right goal, and the ability to coordinate with the rest of a patient's medical team when needed. That's why I started Neuro Performance Therapy — to offer genuinely individualized, one-on-one care without the noise.

My years of living abroad taught me something I carry into every session: ask questions, make no assumptions, and never stop checking that you and the other person are on the same page. In Japan and Costa Rica, that lesson kept me from making too many cultural blunders. In the clinic, it means I take the time to make sure I truly understand your problem, that we're aligned on your goals, and that we're always addressing the right thing — because sometimes there's more than one issue driving your symptoms, and getting to the root of it matters.

I've also experienced debilitating back pain firsthand after a CrossFit injury. I know how frustrating it is to feel like your body has turned against you. That experience lives with me in every session with every patient who walks through the door in pain.

You're in good hands. Let's get to work.
